Bharath Kala Ashram is a professional dance school conducting Indian and Sri Lankan Classical dancing in Melbourne. The teachers at Bharath Kala Ashram are dedicated to protect the spirituality and originality of dance forms while blending with modern arts/music.

Dance Classes

Individual classes will be conducted for those who are interested upon request.

Profile
Visharadh Keshala Aparakka, the founder of Bharath Kala Ashram has a born talent for dancing. She learnt dancing under one of the famous, renowned dance teachers in Sri Lanka- Kala Guru Ms. Miranda Hemalatha for a long time. Keshala qualified as visharad in Bharath Natyam after completing a degree in Bharath Natyam from Bhathkande Sangeeth Vidyapith Lucknow in India. Keshala entered to the stage as a qualified young performing artist with her solo performance “Arangathram” in the year 1998.

Although Keshala has a passion for dancing she is equally qualified as a professional Accountant. She obtained a Bsc (Accountancy) special degree from University of Sri Jayawadanapura in the year 2006. She has also obtained professional qualifications as a member of Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA- UK), Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA-UK), Member of Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA – Australia) and an Associate Member of The Association of Business Executives (ABE UK). Currently she works for a reputed company in Australia as an Accountant, while dedicating her spare time to nurture and cultivate the originality and spirituality of classical dancing among the Sri Lankan community in Melbourne Students of Bharath Kala Ashram have performed in several festivals and concerts organised in Melbourne namely, Sri Lanka Independence Day celebrations. Api wenuwen Api, Mai Gee Raavaya, Mamai Banai, Kangaru Geethaya, Ruwinie Gee Mini Muthu etc.
